A major winter snowstorm has impacted the tri-state area, bringing snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour starting Friday evening. By Saturday morning, the intensity decreased. Areas most affected include the Hudson Valley in Connecticut, northern New Jersey, and parts of Long Island, while sleet was reported in New York City and surrounding regions. Central Park recorded 4.3 inches of snow, the first instance of more than 4 inches since January 2022. Various snowfall totals across nearby counties were reported, with New Fairfield, CT receiving up to 9.1 inches and Westbrook, CT 7.7 inches. Snow levels varied significantly throughout the region.
