Two Russian astronauts, Sergei Ryzhikov and Alexei Zubritsky, along with American astronaut Johnny Kim, have safely returned to Earth after an eight-month mission aboard the International Space Station (ISS). Their Soyuz MS-27 spacecraft landed in Kazakhstan on December 9 at 12:03 a.m. ET.
Upon landing, the crew underwent medical checks before being transported: Ryzhikov and Zubritsky to their training center in Russia and Kim to Houston.
Ryzhikov, the captain, reflected on their successful mission, which included completing a lack of scientific investigations and overseeing cargo arrivals. The trio shared a strong bond during their time in space, emphasizing love and teamwork as essential qualities for astronauts.
The new expedition aboard the ISS includes a team of astronauts from various agencies. This mission marked the 73rd successful Soyuz launch to the ISS, contributing to ongoing international collaboration in space exploration.
