Microsoft is set to place Halo Infinite into maintenance mode later this month, allowing developer Halo Studios to concentrate on creating multiple new Halo games. The final major update, Operation: Infinite, will be released on November 18 and will include a free 100-tier Operations Pass and a Premium Pass, both of which will not expire. While this marks the last significant content update, Halo Studios will still provide support through challenges, ranked rewards, and community events in the following year.
Among the upcoming titles is Halo: Campaign Evolved, slated for release in 2026 on PC, Xbox, and PS5, though other projects remain unannounced. Halo Studios, formerly 343 Industries, has undergone significant changes since Halo Infinite’s launch, including rebranding and staff layoffs, largely due to a drop in player engagement stemming from content issues and monetization practices.
Despite frequent updates improving the game, Halo Infinite has not achieved its intended potential, as it prepares to transition to a new phase of development focusing on future titles.
