In Rock, Arkansas, 28-year-old Andrew James McGan has been arrested for the murder of a married couple, Clinton David Brink, 43, and Kristen Amanda Brink, 41, who were hiking with their children at Devilsden State Park. McGan was apprehended after a five-day search that included a public plea for information. He faces two counts of capital murder and is currently held in Washington County Jail.
Police disclosed few details about the couple’s death but noted that their daughters, aged 7 and 9, were unharmed and are being cared for by family. McGan had recently resigned from a teaching position in Oklahoma and was set to start a new role in Springdale. Previous reports from students alleged inappropriate behavior, prompting an investigation and his subsequent resignation from the school district.
As the community mourns the couple, described as heroes for protecting their children, the investigation continues with a focus on how the Brinks were killed. The state park remains closed since the incident, which has raised significant concern within the community and prompted strong statements from state officials about the pursuit of justice.
