As key maritime nations, they stressed the importance of peace and stability, opposing any coercive actions that aim to alter the status quo.
They identified challenges and opportunities in the region, announcing a new agenda for the Quad focusing on maritime security, economic prosperity, critical technologies, and humanitarian response. They expressed concern about tensions in the East and South China Seas, condemning unilateral actions and advocating for the peaceful resolution of disputes according to international law.
The ministers also addressed supply chain vulnerabilities for critical minerals and condemned North Korea’s ballistic missile pursuits. They reiterated support for denuclearization and expressed concern about Myanmar’s crisis and its regional impact, supporting ASEAN’s efforts for a peaceful resolution.
Furthermore, they reinforced commitment to counterterrorism and announced initiatives to enhance maritime security and economic resilience. This includes the Quad Critical Minerals Initiative and emergency response collaborations, along with plans for future meetings and training exercises. The Quad aims to adapt to evolving regional challenges and opportunities, looking forward to continued cooperation and future summits.
