In a recent interview, Toby Fox discussed various aspects of Chapter 3 of Deltarune, including the cancellation of the planned third round of a game show within the chapter. Despite having developed most of this segment, it was cut for pacing reasons. Regarding the tough boss battle featuring Elnina and Lanino, Fox noted that it wasn’t intentionally designed to be extremely challenging, but allowed for strategic healing items and defense.
Fox expressed excitement about the music scene, particularly the new Anamanaguchi album, and mentioned a potential collaboration with Porter Robinson. He also touched on the development of Deltarune for the anticipated Switch 2, describing it as an upgraded version of the current console.
When reflecting on releasing the game in installments rather than as a complete package, Fox suggested that referring to them as "chunks" could be a playful approach. He emphasized that each chapter feels like a standalone game, drawing parallels to the time investment of creating titles like Undertale.
The game is currently available on the ESHOP, featuring its first four chapters, with future releases included in the paid package. The development cycle continues, and Fox appreciates the fan support throughout.
